My “JOURNEY with JAN”! It was about two years ago that I noticed this “fierce, phenomenal woman” at LVAC! I had been “pondering” for a while that I wanted a personal trainer to work with me to “reclaim” my “best(est🧐🤭😉)” self! I am an “observer” by nature. And watching her rapport with other clients, she unknowingly “drew me in” and that really impressed me! And that says a lot because I have always been “slow to be impressed”! I sensed that she was not only dedicated, but her “encyclopedic” knowledge of the human anatomy was exactly what I wanted, appreciated and respected! And from the start, happy to say, that we were “simpatico”! She was perfect for me! In my former life, I was a professional dancer. So automatically, I had always been in exceptional shape. However, as time continues (for us ALL), Father Time, will “come to call”! And as all former athletes can attest, the torture we put our bodies through, in time, that trauma will come back and “get ya” … with a vengeance! Personal training is assuredly NOT always fun, but it is necessary, it is important and will give you a “sense of accomplishment” that will “satisfy”, if you remain stedfast! So I met Jan Griscom basically through my husband, RICARDO. I was immediately drawn to her. RICARDO paid for me to go and do a couple of lessons with her. She was remarkably thorough and listened exceptionally well. I’m not really a gym person and don’t really enjoy the whole gym environment. Nevertheless, she made sure I had plenty of pictures and instructions on how to continue on my own if I chose to do so. I did on numerous occasions and these pictures and instructions were very helpful. I highly recommend her, if you have any doubts, sit down and spend a little time with her she is loving caring, and will listen to all your needs. Acting on them accordingly. I would give a five stars, if I could give her 10, I would!

I’ve been working with Jan Griscom since March of 2023, and in that time I’ve been able to increase my strength all around. I’ve also been able to truly work through several long-term injuries. I was a lifelong endurance athlete, but by the age of 62 many of those injuries that I experienced years ago from winter sports had affected how I approached fitness. Over the course of the last 3 years, I’ve worked through an old knee injury as well as an old shoulder injury, instead of around the issues. I have gained a great deal of my flexibility back, and I generally feel younger (i.e. less aches and pains). I have also lost about twenty pounds. I would recommend Jan to anyone looking to get fit.

First I must inform you of my own knowledge of physical fitness before writing my comments about Jan. In 1977 to 1979 prior to my Marine Corps twenty year retirement I headed the training section at Head Quarters Marine Corps (HQMC) and was in charge of the entire physical fitness program of the Corps. Prior to this I trained recruits and officers so that they would be fit for combat duties. I started training at a very young age and played high school and college football. In order to win in battle Marines had to be in outstanding physical condition. Because of these experiences I feel that I'm fully qualified to comment on Jan Griscom's expertise in physical fitness. Fast forward-- In 2002-2014 I lived in a 55 plus community, Siena. There were 2001 homes and about 3,500 residents. When I first arrived the gym had very few regulars using the gym. The equipment needed to be upgraded and we needed someone who had the experience to lead us. The general manager of the management company searched long and hard to find a replacement. Finally it paid off and Jan was hired. When she started we estimated that only four percent of the residents were even using the gym. In less than a year with Jan's superior knowledge of physical training twelve percent became active in the gym. The general manager, a retired U.S. Air Force colonel stated to me that Jan by far was his best hire. I can add to this in all my physical fitness training I have never found anyone in this business that knows more about the subject-- certainly more than I knew. Jan now has been in this business for five decades and has attended and graduated from more schools of anyone I know of. In addition to all her knowledge she is a hard worker who puts her heart and soul into what she does. It is for these reasons I heartily endorse her.
